Logging Operations Bring Scheduled Closure to Forest Service Road 7700-950

BAKER CITY, OREGON – Forest Service Road (FSR) 7700-950 near Catherine Creek Summit will be closed starting around September 22, to provide for public safety during line-logging operations on the Little Bear Timber Sale. FSR 7700-950 will be posted the day it is actually closed, and the road will be closed 24-hours a day, anticipated to last approximately four weeks or until the line-logging operations are completed. Tractor log operations have already commenced on the Little Bear Timber Sale and FSR 950 is currently being used as a haul route. Logging activities will be ongoing in this area for several months, so the public is encouraged to avoid the area and drive safely and defensively while traveling in this area.
