Glenwood Springs, Colorado – The Forest Service is providing an opportunity for the public to visit the proposed Breckenridge Ski Resort (BSR) Peak 6 project area and gain an understanding of the project proposal. BSR is located on the Dillon Ranger District of the White River National Forest (WRNF). The ski area, including the proposed Peak 6 project area, is operated by BSR under a special use permit with the Forest Service.
The site visit will take place on the afternoon of Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Breckenridge Ski Resort. The site visit will accommodate the skiing and non-skiing public. The intent of the site visit is to present the proposal details and allow the public to ask questions of Forest Supervisor Scott Fitzwilliams while visiting the project area. The Draft EIS is not currently available for review; therefore, discussions will be limited to a description of the proposal and the proposed time table for the release of the Draft EIS. Opportunities for the public to review and provide comment on the Draft EIS will be announced at a later date.
