2013 Little Belt Mountains Color Travel Map!

Graphic showing the cover of the Little Belt Mountain Motorized Travel MapThe 2013 Free Little Belt Mountains Color Travel Map is now available in digital format, and will be available in paper format about mid-May at many motor vehicle dealerships, sports stores, and Forest offices..  This very popular map product is the result of a partnership between the Montana Trail Vehicle Riders Association, the Great Falls Trail Bike Riders Association, and the Lewis and Clark National Forest.  See below for Adobe Reader versions of the map!

This map was developed and printed under a cooperative agreement between the Great Falls Trail Bike Riders Association, the Montana Trail Vehicle Riders Association, Inc. and the Lewis and Clark National Forest.

The Great Falls Trail Bike Riders Association is an organization whose mission is: "To create a positive future for Montana off-highway vehicle recreation by creating an ongoing communications forum through which OHV enthusiasts and organizations can share information and experiences; participate in educational opportunities; build partnerships with land managers, land owners and supporters; and become partners in protecting, promoting and creating a positive image of OHV recreation".
The Montana Trail Vehicle Riders Association is an incorporated group with the mission of “creat[ing] a positive future for Montana off-highway vehicle recreation by creating an ongoing communications forum through which OHV enthusiasts and organizations can share information and experiences; participate in educational opportunities; build partnerships with land managers, land owners, and supporters; and become partners in protecting, promoting and creating a positive image of OHV recreation.”
The Lewis and Clark National Forest consists of 1.8 million acres of public land in 6 mountain ranges in central Montana. The Lewis and Clark Forest has a strong commitment to providing ecologically sustainable recreational experiences. Customer service, partnerships, and a strong land ethic are all hallmarks of the Forest. Little Belt Mountains Motorized Travel Map files are in pdf format, compatible with Adobe Reader X.

Printing a Section at Home

These maps are 27"x36" in size, which is too large to print on home printers.  To print a section of this map on a small printer, using Adobe Reader, follow these steps:

  • On your screen zoom into 100%, and pan to the area you wish to print
  • Click on the File menu, and click "Print"
  • When the Print dialogue box opens:
    • Choose your printer
    • Under "Pages to Print", click on More Options, and make sure "Current View" is checked.
    • Under Page Sizing & Handling, click Actual Size, but make sure the rest of the buttons are unchecked.
  • Your version of Adobe Reader may vary somewhat from what is described in these instructions, but the important steps are to zoom into your area, and make sure you are printing the current view.

QR Codes

These codes are for accessing the map files via mobile (these files are not geopdfs, but you can download and use them on various mobile devices). Refer to your mobile phone or device instructions on how to utilize QR Codes.  Various free apps, such as Avenza or Adobe Reader, will allow you to view these files on your phone.  Because of the size of the files, we suggest downloading these to your computer and syncing to your device, or downloading while connected to a wireless network.
