The Rocky Mountain Region is hiring over 600 temporary positions across 17 national forests and 7 national grasslands located in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Follow this link for more information on temporary/seasonal jobs and how to apply.
This Outreach Notice lists vacant temporary fire positions across the Rocky Mountain Region scheduled to be filled for the 2016 field season. As many as 350 positions are expected to be filled throughout the region on engine, helitack, hotshot, fuels, handcrew and prevention crews along with fire clerks, airtanker base, and fire dispatch positions. These positions will be advertised on www.usajobs.gov for seven days, January 7-14, 2016.
The San Luis Valley Interagency Fire management unit will be filling seasonal positions within our organization, as Type 6 Fire Engine crew members and/or Fuels Crew members (Forest Service and BLM). The Duty Stations locations may be in La Jara, Saguache, Del Norte and/or Monte Vista Colorado.
The San Luis Valley Interagency Fire Management Unit consists of The National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, U. S Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Forest Service who have pooled their resources and personnel to create an efficient, highly experienced and skilled fire and Fuels management team for the San Luis Valley.
The Rio Grande National Forest is anticipating filling several seasonal positions for the upcoming summer season not to exceed 6 months April/September (approximately)
