Welcome!
You work hard. You get dirty. Your muscles get tired and sore. You get blisters, bug bites and rained on. You don’t get paid and you call it fun. You are a volunteer! You are the heartbeat of the Forest Service.
In central Oregon you can help visitors learn about geology, join archeologists to document prehistoric sites, maintain trails for hiking, skiing, horseback riding, running, mountain biking, off-highway vehicle riding, or snowmobiling.
You don't want to get dirty? How about an indoor volunteer opportunity such as photo archiving or documentation? There are many options for volunteers in central Oregon – it just depends upon your time and interest!

Group Volunteer Opportunities
Do you want to meet other people, or just need someone else on the other end of that saw? How about joining one of these great volunteer groups? Much of the volunteer work on the forests is accomplished through groups. Go here to read more about these volunteer groups that help the forests.
Events
Friends of the Forest Days are great opportunities for families and individuals to volunteer and have fun. The National Forest Foundation (NFF) hosts Friends of the Forest Days around the country in partnership with local organizations. To learn more about volunteer opportunities and the NFF, please visit their website http://www.natlforests.org
Are you interested in organizing a special volunteer event such a 'work day' for your club, company or group? We would love to work with you! Please contact the Volunteer Program Managers listed above to determine timelines and locations.
