Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem Grizzly Bear Forest Plan Amendments
The Forest Service, as part of the Flathead National Forest's forest plan revision process, has signed and finalized forest plan amendments to incorporate habitat management direction for the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem (NCDE) Grizzly Bear population across the NCDE, including the Helena-Lewis and Clark, Kootenai and Lolo National Forests. The amendments incorporate relevant direction from the NCDE Grizzly Bear Conservation Strategy to support a recovered grizzly bear population within the NCDE. These amendments became effective with the publication of notice of approval in the Federal Register on December 27, 2018. Follow the link to the Flathead National Forest's website to read more details about and the actual NCDE Grizzly Bear Forest Plan Amendments.
