State, Private, and Tribal Forestry
Northern Region (Region 1) and Intermountain Region (Region 4)
The State, Private, and Tribal Forestry organization of the USDA Forest Service reaches across the boundaries of national forests to states, tribes, communities, and non-industrial private landowners. We provide financial and technical assistance to landowers, resource managers, and communities to produce ecological, social, and economic benefits for the American people.
The states encompassed within the Forest Service's Northern Region (Region 1) are Northern Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, and parts of South Dakota and Washington. The states encompassed with the Forest Service's Intermountain Region (Region 4) are Southern Idaho, Nevada, Utah, and parts of California and Wyoming.
