This event for kids 15 or younger is held at the Maumee Boy Scout camp. You must pre-register to attend and an adult must accompany their children. The fun-filled day includes activities, lunch, door prizes, and awards for the most fish and biggest fish caught by age group. The 21st annual Kid’s Fishing Derby will be held at German Ridge Pond east of Tell City on Saturday, May 21st. The event is free and open to all children ages 15 and under.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Sign-in begins at 8:00 am. The fishing and casting contest begins at 9:00. Lunch will be provided with awards and prizes following. Call the Tell City Office at 812.547.7051 or by stop by the office to pre-register. Please bring your own rods, reels, fishing line, and hooks. You will also need to bring your own bait.
The Hoosier National Forest and Bedford Parks Department are working together to host a fun day of outdoor activities on June 18. The event will be held at Murray Forest Park, just off SR 58 in Bedford. Contact the Forest or check out the event website for more information as details are added.
