Tonto National Forest is preparing an environmental impact statement (EIS) to disclose environmental effects of a mine plan of operations (MPO) submitted by Pinto Valley Mining Corp. (PVMC) and any necessary amendments to the Tonto National Forest Land and Resource Management Plan. In compliance with 36 CFR 220.3, basic NEPA information such as scoping notification; draft EIS, final EIS, etc...will be posted here. Pinto Valley Mine is located approximately three miles north of US Highway 60 on Pinto Valley Road (Forest Road 287), and approximately eight miles west of Miami, in Gila County, Arizona.
