Twin Metals Minnesota Hydrogeologic Study Special Use Permit

Purpose is to obtain hydrogeologic data to prepare models to characterize the existing groundwater environment, baseline groundwater quality, and the relationship of the groundwater with the surface water conditions within and beyond the potential mine project area. The data will be used for predicting the potential interaction amongst groundwater, surface water, and wetlands in the vicinity of any mining project that Twin Metals Minnesota may propose.

Location Summary

Approximately seven miles Southeast of Ely, Minnesota near Birch Lake and the Kawishiwi River.
