Marienville Main ATV Trailhead

This trailhead parking lot is located along State Route 66 about fifteen miles southwest of Kane, PA and eleven miles northeast of Marienville, PA. Facilities include vault toilets, paved parking, loading/unloading ramp and informational signing. This parking lot accesses the 37-mile Marienville ATV/Bike Trail System. The trail is divided into a Bike Trail Area and an ATV Trail Area. ATVs are permitted on the Bike Trail, and trail bikes are allowed on the ATV Trail. The Bike Trail Area is a 23.1 mile loop rated MOST DIFFICULT and is best suited to trail bikes. It offers a very rocky trail surface that winds and twists through the forest. This trail is not recommended for inexperienced or novice riders. The 14.2 mile ATV Trail Area is rated MORE DIFFICULT and is best suited to ATVs. Current Conditions: Open until midnight September 25, 2016 for the summer season.  The trail will open again for the Columbus Day holiday starting at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, 10/7 and closing at midnight on Monday, 10/10.

  • All riders must wear helmets.
  • Travel is permitted on designated, blazed routes only.
  • Use of the trail by ATVs or trail bikes during closed seasons is prohibited. Bike Trails are open the same time as ATV trails for the summer season, but are closed in the winter.
  • The trail is clearly marked with yellow diamond-shaped markers on trees.
  • ATV riding on unmarked routes is a violation of Forest regulation 36 CFR 261.54a and subject to citation.
  • Off-trail travel may damage the forest resource or pose a safety hazard to other forest users.
  • It is illegal to drive an OHV while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Mufflers are required on all ATVs and motorbikes.
  • Lights must be used between sunset and sunrise.
  • Dirt Bikes: Extra riders must be seated behind the driver and must be able to reach the foot pegs.
  • Children driving an ATV must be at least 8 years old and must have a certificate with them that they have passed an appropriate safety course.
  • Children must be on a machine that is appropriate for their size.
  • If a child requires a safety seat while in a car or truck, then the child must be in a safety seat while traveling on an ATV.
