Elijah Run Boat Launch and Shoreline Trail

The fishing pier is temporarily closed for repairs.

Elijah Run Boat Launch and Shoreline Trail are on the west bank of the Allegheny Reservoir (Kinzua Arm), located on the Longhouse National Scenic Byway. This large launch is a popular location for water skiing.

There is also a short, hardened path to a fishing pier.

This area is also designated as a restroom stop on the ASL (Allegheny Snowmobile Loop).

General Information

Directions:

From downtown Warren

  • Travel south on Route 6/Crescent Park Drive for 2 miles.
  • Turn left/east onto Route 59.
  • Travel east on Route 59 for 9.8 miles.
  • Turn right onto Longhouse National Scenic Byway
  • Travel on Longhouse National Scenic Byway for 4.4 miles.
  • Turn left to enter the site.

Activities

Lake and Pond Fishing

There is a short, hardened path to the fishing pier. The asphalt trail follows the edge of the reservoir for approximately 1/3 mile. Benches are found at regular intervals along this trail leading to an accessible fishing pier.

Fish Species Fish species found in the Reservoir include smallmouth bass, muskellunge, walleye, northern pike, yellow perch, channel catfish and some brown trout.

Ice Fishing

The Allegheny reservoir is a popular ice fishing area during winter months. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the reservoir ice during the winter. See Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission for seasons, regulations and safety tips.

Day Hiking

Fire Information Campfires are permitted if maintained in a fire ring, and completely extinguished.

Viewing Wildlife

Good wildlife viewing opportunities along the shoreline.
