The Allegheny has a rich variety of outdoor activities. There are over 600 campsites, 6 boat launches, 6 canoe access sites, 2 nationally designated wilderness areas and many miles of hiking, snowmobiling and OHV trails.
The Forest is open 24 hours. Office hours at Bradford Ranger District, Marienville Ranger District and the Supervisor's Office in Warren are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Fees are required for camping and boat launching.

Fuelwood permits are required for cutting firewood
ATV permits are required for riding the ATV trail system
Annual permits are available for boat launch parking.
Do not bring firewood from home to the Allegheny National Forest! This could spread the emerald ash borer, sirex wood wasp, hemlock woolly adelgid or other firewood borne invasive species. Possession of firewood from outside the area of the Allegheny National Forest is prohibited. Firewood is available at or near camping facilities.

You can access much of the forest 24 hours a day. Office hours for the Supervisor's Office, Bradford Ranger District and Marienville Ranger Districts are 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. During the summer, the ranger districts are open:
Bradford RD: Monday-Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Marienville RD: Open 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
