Olive Ridge Campground

There are 56 sites that will accommodate tents, campers, trailers, and RVs. Click here for the campground table.

Tents must be confined to the provided tent pads (14' X 16'). Picnic tables, fire grates, water, vault toilets, and trash services are provided. There is no electricity, hook-ups, dump stations, or showers.

A maximum of eight people are allowed per site. Campsites 1 - 24, 38, 41, 42, and 46 are first come, first served. Campsites 26 - 40, 42, and 44 - 56 are reservable. Reservations are accepted a minimum of four days prior to arrival (a maximum of 160 days prior) and cost an additional $10 per reservation by phone or $9 for reservations online. Reservations can be made through www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777.

Olive Ridge is near the southeastern corner of Rocky Mountain National Park, so offers nearby access to hiking trails in the Wild Basin area of the National Park. Olive Ridge is normally full for the weekend by Friday morning so plan to arrive early or consider making a reservation.

Current Conditions: This campground is closed until May 2015. There is no camping allowed in a closed campground.
Fees Campsite fees are $19 per night and allow a maximum of 8 people. Double campsites are $38 per night and allow up to 15 people. Fees are reduced when the water system is off. Interagency Senior, Interagency Access, Golden Age and Golden Access passes provide cardholders a 50% discount on campground fees.

Restrictions: Pets must be on a hand-held leash at all times. A maximum of eight people are allowed per site. RVs, trailers or other vehicles must fit on the parking spur. Fishing is permitted in accordance with regulations established by the Colorado Parks & Wildlife.

General Information

Directions:

The campground is located on the west side of Colorado Highway 7 between Allenspark and Meeker Park at mile-marker 14. It is approximately six miles north of the intersection of Colorado Highways 7 and 72 (which is 21 miles west-north-west of Lyons), 15 miles south of Estes Park, and 29 miles north of Nederland.

Campground Camping

Olive Ridge is located just south of Rocky Mountain National Park's Wild Basin Trailhead. The campground is sheltered by pine, aspen and spruce trees and offers a playground suitable for young children. An amphitheater provides seating for educational programs, offered on summer weekend evenings. Olive Ridge is popular, often filling to capacity early on Fridays throughout the summer.
