Located west of Denver and five miles north of the town of Blackhawk, adjacent to Highway 119 among aspen and lodgepole pine. This picnic site, with tables and fire grates, is adjacent to the Cold Springs Campground.  There is an onsite parking.  A restroom is available.  There are hiking, scenic viewing, and fishing opportunities nearby.

General Information

Directions: Five miles north of Central City - Blackhawk on Hwy 119. From Denver, off I-25 take 6th Avenue west to State Highway 6, through Clear Creek Canyon. Proceed north on State Highway 119. Campground is located 5 miles north of Blackhawk. You can also access State Highway 119 from I-70 at Exit 244.

Campground Camping

Located west of Denver and five miles north of the town of Blackhawk, adjacent to Highway 119 among aspen and lodgepole pine. There are 38 sites available, 35 are suitable for RV camping and 3 are more suitable for tents. Facilities provided include restrooms, water and a playground area. Each site contains a tent pad, fire grate, and picnic table. Some first come, first serve sites may be available. Sites may be available on a first come first served basis outside the reservation season. There are no electric/water/sewer site hook-ups at this campground. Firewood is for sale at the campground. There are hiking, scenic viewing, and fishing opportunities nearby.
Reservation InfoCampsites are reservable from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Reservations can be made by calling toll-free 1-877-444-6777, or via the Internet at http://recreation.gov. There is a fee of $9 in addition to the campsite fee(s). Reservations must be made a minimum of four days prior to your arrival, and can be made up to 180 days in advance. Credit cards are accepted. Some campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.2 night min stay on weekends,3 night min stay on holidays.
Fire InformationCampfires are allowed in the fire ring provided, dead and down wood may be gathered from the forest if available. Wood may also be purchased from the hosts.
