Located three miles off Highway 103 along West Chicago Creek in an aspen and lodgepole pine forest setting. There are 15 sites available, all sites are suitable for small RV camping and tents. Facilities provided include restrooms and water. Each site contains a tent pad, picnic table and fire grate. Some first come, first serve sites may be available. Sites may be available on a first come first served basis outside the reservation season. There are no electric/water/sewer site hook-ups at this campground. Firewood is available for sale at the campground. There are no off road vehicle trails in the area and no OHV's allowed in the campground. Easy access to hiking trails in the Mount Evans wilderness.

Restrictions: A single site may hold up to five people. Tents must fit on the pads provided. RVs, trailers or other vehicles must fit on the parking spur because driving or parking off road is not permitted. The parking length ranges from 30 to 45 feet.  Dogs must be on leash.

General Information

Directions: I-70 westbound, Idaho Springs exit #240 - Hwy 103. Go south for 6.5 miles and turn right on southwest Forest Service Road 188 (West Chicago Creek Road). Go 3 miles to campground.

Campground Camping

Reservation InfoCampsites are reservable from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Reservations can be made by calling toll-free 1-877-444-6777, or via the Internet at http://recreation.gov. There is a fee of $9 in addition to the campsite fee(s). Reservations must be made a minimum of four days prior to your arrival, and can be made up to 180 days in advance. Credit cards are accepted. Some campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 2 night min stay on weekends, 3 night min stay on holidays.
Fire InformationCampfires are allowed in the fire ring provided, dead and down wood may be gathered from the forest if available. Wood may also be purchased from the hosts.
