Trap Park (#995)
This trail may be accessed both in summer and winter months. The trail soon enters a boulder field and makes a switchback before following an old road up to Trap Park about a mile from the trailhead. For another two miles the trail meanders along the willow lined Trap Creek with the Neota Wilderness on both sides, but ends before entering the wilderness. From the boulder field you can view Trap Lake and from Trap Park you can find great views of Iron Mountain to the southwest and Flat Top Mountain to the south. The creek in the willow park area is bordered by sections of boggy meadow and the mosquitoes can be quite thick. Trap Park trailhead accommodates approximately 11 vehicles.

General Information
Directions: Travel 11 miles northwest of Fort Collins on U.S. Highway 287 to Colorado Highway 14. Turn left on CO 14, and travel 54 miles west to Forest Road #156, Long Draw Road, located across the highway from the Blue Lake trailhead parking lot. Travel 3½ miles, and look for road to the Trap Lake trailhead parking lot on the right.Activities

Trap Park trailhead accommodates approximately 11 vehicles.
| Fire Information | Check for any seasonal fire restrictions before your hike. Campfires must be at least 100 feet from water and trails. You may collect dead and down wood; do not break branches from standing trees for firewood. Please attend to campfires at all times. Touch any remaining coals with the bare hand to insure campfire is cold and dead out. Remember, if it is too hot to touch, it is too hot to leave! |

XC Skiing/Snowshoeing
Park at the Blue Lake Trailhead and cross Colorado Highway 14 to the Long Draw Road (forest road 156). This road is heavily used by snowmobiles but makes for a quick access route to Trap Park and the Neota Wilderness where snowmobiles are not allowed. The Trap Park trailhead is located three miles up the Long Draw Road. The trail is mainly used by snowmobiles and has some avalanche danger.| Difficulty Level: | Moderate |
