Penny Springs Campground


Overview:

Penny Spring Campground is a treat for campers who enjoy the great outdoors in a remote area. 

Near enough to enjoy the Warm Lake area, but also a quiet spot out of the summer crouds, Penny Springs offers plenty of relaxing under the pine forest canopy. 

In the late summer months, visitors enjoy picking huckleberries and viewing trails covered in wildflowers. 

Recreation:

Catch a fish in the nearby stream, view the wildlife and enjoy a picnic with friends.

It is your guide to open roads and trails designated for hiking, biking, horseriding and ATV riding in the area.

General Information

Directions:

From Boise, Idaho, travel approximately 80 miles north on State Highway 55 to Cascade, Idaho. 

From Cascade, Idaho, travel 1 mile north on State Highway 55 to the Forest Highway 22 (Warm Lake Highway) turnoff.  

Turn east and travel approximately 23 miles to the intersection of Forest Highway 22 and Forest Service (FS) road 474. 

Proceed north along FS road 474, approximately 4 miles to Penny Springs Campground.


General Notes:

The Cupp Corral Trailhead is a half-acre signed site with no amenities. Serves Dollar Creek Ridge (#014) and Dollar Creek Way (#114) trails.  Located near Penny Springs Campground.

Campground Camping

There are 4 campsites.

Lake and Pond Fishing

Enjoy a stop at Warm Lake on your way to the campground and try your luck fishing for kokanee and several species of trout including rainbow, brook, lake, and bull.

River and Stream Fishing

Enjoy fishing the South Fork Salmon River for salmon, steelhead, whitefish, bull trout and cutthroat trout.

Big Game Hunting

Check with the Idaho Fish and Game for hunting opportunities in the area.
