Trail Highlights:

  • This trail begins at a junction next to the creek and climbs up into a large open area.  There are several small faint trails in this area, but the main trail was marked out by the trail crew in 2010 with large posts.
  • The trail climbs steeply through the large open meadows to a first saddle that is forested.  The trail then continues past here up through another large open meadow, winding its way along small ridges until finally reaching Red Pass which is marked with an old sign.

Options:

  • There are no connections from this section of trail until reaching Red Pass, where you can connect to the Wolf Mt Trail or connect over to the headwaters of Dog Cr.

Important Information

  • This trail was reconstructed in 2010 but may still be difficult to follow due to its location in the meadows.  Several posts were installed but may have fallen over during the winter months.  Stay in the main drainage and you will easily reach the pass.
  • Always check the kiosk at the Trailhead for important information pertinent to the trail.
  • This trail is located on the USGS quad map for Observation Peak.
