Fremont Lake Campground

Just 15 minutes north of Pinedale you will find Fremont Lake Campground.  This one of our more developed sites, it has 56 campsites and the road is paved to the campground.  Each site provides a picnic table and a fire ring.  There is drinking water available at many locations throughout the campsite, but no hook-ups for water/sewer/electric.  A bear proof dumpster is available on-site for your convenience.  Proper food storage is required.  Campground hosts are available to answer your questions.

NOTE:  The road in the campground is narrow, rough, and has no shoulder in certain locations.  Turn arounds from Sites 16-33 are not reconmended for oversized RVs or trailers.

Current Conditions: The Fremont Lake Campground is a very popular campground, particularly for the local community.  This campground has undergone significant upgrades designed to serve a variety of campers, including larger groups and those with disabilities.  The Forest Service appreciates the public’s patience during the construction process and is planning a grand opening after construction is completed.

General Information


To reach the Campground from Pinedale, drive to the east side of town and turn northeast onto the Fremont Lake road, passing the Pinedale Ranger District Office. Continue straight on the main road, in approximately 4 miles turn left, following signs to Fremont Lake Campground. Then turn right at the Y, once again following the signs. Continue Northeast for 3 miles, then take the left at the next Y to the Campground.
