Half Moon Lake Campground

Half Moon Lake campground is situated just off the northeast shore of Half Moon Lake.  Heavy willow stands provide excellent privacy between sites and an Aspen overstory provide shade among the 17 sites.  Visitors enjoy water sports such as boating, swimming, canoeing and paddle boarding right from the beach within the campground. Two miles down the gravel road is an excellent hiking trail for users of all abilities.  This is a primitive campground, the access road is not paved, drinking water is not available, and proper Food Storage is Required.

Reservations: There are 11 reservable sites. For reservations, call Toll Free 1-877-444-6777 (International 518-885-3639 or TDD 877-833-6777) or on-line at www.recreation.gov. Remaining sites first come first serve.

General Information


Starting from the Town of Pinedale, Wyoming, head East on United States Highway 191 (US-191) until taking a left turn into Fremont Lake Road. Stay on the road for 3 miles, then continue straight taking a right turn on Half Moon Lake Road (National Forest Road 114) for 1 mile, where you will see signage for Half Moon Lake Campground on the right
