Trail Highlights:
- From the motorized parking lot, the trail takes off and climbs up the hill to the left. The trail tops out in pine forest and then winds its way down into the Rock Cr drainage. Here it meets up with the non-motorized trail, passes through a fence, and crosses over a bridge.
- The trail then climbs up through a mixture of pine and aspen forest, fairly steeply. It eventually comes out in a large open meadow where it crosses a new bridge constructed in 2011.
- The trail then follows a new reroute on the hillside above the creek, where it winds through pine forest and crosses a small drainage. The trail stays in the woods until it reaches the junction with the Squaw Cr Trail. From here you can take a left and head up to the 4 way junction, or take a right and head down Squaw Cr to the Tuscy Ridge Trail or the Big Munger Loop.
Options
- There are several loop options at Munger. From the Rock Cr Trail, you can access the Squaw Cr Trail and climb up to the 4 way junction where you can access Wally World, Poison Cr, or Tuscy Ridge. You can also take Squaw Cr down and reach the Big Munger Loop, or the lower portion of Tuscy Ridge. Check out the Munger System map for loop ideas.

General Information
Directions:
From Jackson, head out to Wilson on Highway 22 and take a left onto Fall Cr Road. Take this road for roughly 20 minutes until you reach Red Top Meadows. Continue past Red Top and the road will turn to dirt. Follow this road for a few minutes until you see a gravel parking lot with a large kiosk on your left. This is the motorized parking lot and is the easiest access to the Rock Cr Trail. There is a smaller pull in parking spot just before this parking lot but it not open to motorized use. This access is used mostly by hikers and mt bikers. From the motorized parking lot, follow the trail up a few minutes and you’ll see the Rock Cr Trail taking off to the left at a signed junction. From the non-motorized pull in spot, follow the old road up and stay to the left. The trail climbs steeply up the hill and levels out, following along the hillside above the creek until reaching a fence. From here, the trail crosses a bridge and heads up the hill.
