Trail Highlights:

  • This trail climbs up through pine forest about 1.5 miles into the Six Lakes Basin.  From here the trail winds through several smaller lakes until ending at the largest of the lakes, which sits beneath the Gros Ventre Crest.  Truly a stunning area.

Options:

  • There are no loop options from the Six Lakes Trail itself, but several options exist off of the Jagg Cr Trail.
  • A popular through hike is to go in Teepee Cr Trail, past Two Echo Park, up to Six Lakes, up and over into the Bear Cabin drainage down to Cowboy Camp and out Big Cow Cr.  This is a great multi-night trip and requires a shuttle from the Big Cow Cr Trailhead.
