Trail Highlights:

• This trail traverses through alpine meadows, timber islands and willow flats descending in elevation north to south crossing Carmichael Fork of Slate Creek, a little over one mile north of the western portion of the Slate Creek Valley.  Junctions are not signed and can be taken either from going up the Carmichael Fork Trail or descending the Aspen Trail Cr Trail. This trail has not been maintained in recent years and a few sections are difficult to follow.

Options:

• This trail has two access points.  There are other loop options off of this trail as it connects with Carmichael Fork of Slate Creek which connects with multiple trails that are part of the Slate Creek Motorized Trail System and the Ditch Creek area.

Important Information

• All of the Aspen Cr Trail is located within the Mount Leidy Highlands in an area where the trails are not open to motorized or mechanized vehicles and is also located in prime Grizzly Bear habitat.
• This trail is located on USGS quad maps for Mount Leidy, 7.5 minute.
• Always check the posted information at the kiosks for maps, updated material on forest regulations and closures.
