McCain Guard Station
The McCain Guard Station is a rustic cabin that is popular year-round, with hikers and horseback riders using it during the summer months and snowmobile enthusiasts using it throughout the winter. Several trails are nearby, and the open meadows offer gentle sledding for younger riders.
This guard station is located 23 miles from Alpine, Wyoming up the Little Greys River Road. The station's visitor capacity is 8 people, on 4 bunk beds. No potable water nor electricity are available at this guard station. There is a propane heater, a propane cook top, and propane lights. General Information
Directions:From the Town of Alpine, Wyoming, head east on Greys River Road /Forest Service Road 10138 (FS-10138) and follow it for approximately 8 miles. Turn left at the junction getting onto The Little Greys Road/ FS-10124 and follow it for 12.7 miles then turn left onto FS-10275 to access McCain Guard Station.
