Trail Highlights:
- From the Arrow Trail junction, the trail climbs up through tight lodgepole forest, crossing a dirt road, and eventually popping out on the ridge with spectacular views. From here the trail turns and follows along the ridge for several miles, paralleling the road.
- The trail continues along the ridge through aspen and pine forest with great views of the valley. It eventually drops down and crosses the road and starts to head down the ridge.
- The trail goes through more tight lodgepole and spruce forest, crossing a rocky section known locally as “Rock World”, where the trail crew has constructed the trail out of rock, offering a great technical mountain bike section.
- Past Rock World, the trail enters “Wiggle World”, where it descends down the ridge in a series of switchbacks. It eventually reaches the bottom where it meets up with the Phillips Canyon Trail.
Options:
- A popular loop with this trail is with the Arrow Trail. You can go down Arrow Trail to the Phillips Canyon Trail, follow that down and take the ridge trail back. The trail was constructed for easy climbing out of the valley so it makes a nice return trip.
- Another connection for a shorter loop is with the Snotel Trail.

General Information
Directions:
There are two main access points to this trail. To access from the Arrow Trail: From Jackson, head out to Wilson on Highway 22 and head up Teton Pass. Go up the pass a ways, past Trail Creek, until you see a large parking lot on your left and a dirt road on your right with a sign saying Phillips Canyon. It is best to park down below either below the kiosk, or across the highway in the larger parking lot. Head up the road and either take a right onto the Arrow Trail, or continue along the road. Follow the road or the trail until reaching the signed junction for the Phillips Ridge Trail.
To access from Phillips Canyon Trail: Head out to Wilson and take a right across from the gas station. Follow this around and take a left onto Fish Cr Road. Follow this out a ways, cross over the bridge over Fish Cr, and up ahead you’ll see a small 4 car parking lot on your right. Park here and the trail starts across the street. Follow this up a few minutes, crossing the few small bridges, until you reach a junction for the Phillips Ridge Trail taking off to your left.
