Horse Heaven Trail

Length:   3.4 miles from jct with Willow Cr Trail to District Boundary

Elevation:   7245 ft at jct with Willow Cr Trail, 9775 ft at Distrcit Boundary

Open to:  Hikers, Equestrian

Trail Highlights:

  • This trail leaves the Willow Cr Trail and follows below the ridgeline up to a high saddle where it reaches the District Boundary.  From here it connects in with the Cliff Cr Trail.  Not much is known about its condition as it has not been maintained much over the past several years.  Expect downed trees and faint tread. 

Options:

  • There are no links off this trail.  It serves as a connector between the Willow Cr Trail and the Cliff Cr Trail.  A loop could be done with the Hunter Cr Trail back down to Willow Cr.

Important Information

  • This trail has not seen a lot of maintenance, so expect downed trees, rough creek crossings and faint tread. 
  • This trail is located on USGS quad maps for Bailey Lake and Hoback Peak, 7.5 minute.
  • Always check the posted information at the kiosks for maps, updated material on forest regulations and closures.
