This scenic high desert campground is located on the eastern shore of Haystack Reservoir and surrounded by native vegetation including sage brush and juniper trees.

Fees Camping per site per night:  $13.00 for first vehicle and $6.00 for each additional vehicle. Day Use fee is $5.00 per vehicle. This is a concessionaire operated facility, and concessionaires are not required to recognize all Forest Service Passes.

General Information

Directions:

From Madras

 -Travel South on Highway 97

 - Exit Jericho Lane and head East for approximately 1.25 miles

 - Turn Right on Springer Road (Forest Service Road 7130/ Forest Service Road 96) then proceed approximately 2.5 miles (you will pass West Shore and South Shore Campgrounds)

 - Turn Left onto Forest Service Road 9605

 - Haystack Campground will be on the left and the road will end at the day use area.
 

From Prineville:

 -Travel North on Highway 26

 - Exit Laurel Lane (Forest Service Road 96) and head West for approximately 4 miles

 - Turn Right onto Springer Road (Forest Service Road 7130/ Forest Service Road 96) and proceed approximately 1.5 miles

 - Turn Right onto Forest Service Road 9605

 - Haystack Campground will be on the left and the road will end at the day use area.
