Island Meadow Trail

The Island Meadow Trail #3 starts at the Elk Lake Trailhead. It's a short trail that connects to the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail #2000 and a variety of loop trails that pass lakes and old-growth mountain hemlock forest.

The Island Meadow Trail enters the Three Sisters Wilderness shortly after leaving the trailhead. Wilderness Permits are required for both day use and overnight stays from this trailhead. See "Permit Info" below for more details.

Permit Info:	There are two types of entry permits required between June 15 and October 15 for entering the Three Sisters Wilderness from this trailhead. Overnight Use Central Cascades Wilderness Permit between June 15 and October 15. Day Use Free, self-issue Wilderness Permit (available at the trailhead) between June 15 and October 15.
