Swan Lake Cabin
A 12 x 14-foot rustic cabin set back from the eastern tip of Swan Lake. Surrounded by spruce/birch forest and meadows with views of the lake and nearby mountains.
This cabin sleeps 6, and has a table, wood stove, splitting maul, crosscut saw, outhouse, and rowboat with oars.
Not included: running water, electricity, mattresses or bedding, cooking utensils, or cut firewood.

General Information
Directions:Swan Lake Cabin is located on the Resurrection Pass Trail 12.8 miles from the south trailhead. It can be accessed by hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, skiing, floatplane, or snowmobile (during open seasons).

Cabin Rentals
Occupancy of Forest Service cabins is by permit only ($45 per night per party). Reservations may be made up to 180 days in advance by calling 1-877-444-6777 (518-885-3639 overseas) or via internet at www.reserve.com . Maximum stay is 3 consecutive nights from May 15-Aug. 31, and 7 consecutive nights from Sept. 1-May 14.

This cabin is in the Resurrection Pass/West Resurrection Pass and alternates between motorized and non-motoroized use annually, from December 1 through April 30, dependent on snow conditions. That is: one year, Resurrection and West Resurrection are motorized from December 1 through April 30; the following year, both units are non-motorized. The December 2008-April 2009 season is non-motorized.

Cabin is next to the Resurrection Pass Trail on the southeast corner of Swan Lake, 13 miles from the south trailhead (Mile 52, Sterling Highway). It is also accessible by floatplane (a 15 minute flight from Cooper Landing or a 30 minute flight from Moose Pass). Refer to USGS map, Seward C8.
Safety Information
Winter travel is relatively safe, but trail may be difficult to follow during/after heavy snowfall, especially between Swan Lake and Resurrection Pass.
Inclement weather changes may cause an unexpected extensin of the trip. Bring extra supplies to last 2-5 days. Bringing a personal cooking stove is recommended. Bring life jackets, the Forest Service does not provide them. Bring initial supply of water. Boil surface water 5 minutes before drinking. Remember to pack out your trash.
