Babe Haught Trail No. 43
This trail was built by pioneer "Babe" Haught to pack supplies over the the Mogollon Rim from Winslow. Species of wildlife found in the vicinity include deer, elk, wild turkey, squirrel and black bear. Knoll Lake provides excellent trout fishing. Dispersed camping is allowed. There is also a developed seasonal campground, Knoll Lake Campground, located on Forest Road 295E, west of the lake.

- Forest Road 300 is usually closed each winter during heavy snow season.

Access: From Phoenix drive northeast on Hwy 87 to Forest Road 95 (just past the Blue Ridge Office of the Mogollon Rim Ranger District). Turn right, and travel south to the junction of FR 95 and FR 96, turn left and travel south to Forest Road 321. Veer right on FR 321 and travel south to Forest Road 300, turn left (east), cross Forest Road 295E (the road to Knoll Lake) and go about 2 miles to the trailhead.
