Crowley Pit Snow Play Area

  

Crowley Pit is a large depression along US-180 (Fort Valley Road) north of Flagstaff which makes an excellent place to enjoy some sledding in the winter snow.  The snow-play area is undeveloped and there are no facilities.

Directions:

Crowley Pit: From Flagstaff, head northwest on Highway 180, approximately 9.8 miles, turn left at the parking sign (mile post 233), and continue to the parking area. (The only sign for Crowley is a "Parking" sign-- no other indication.)

Parking:

Parking is limited and there is no official parking lot.  The areas for parking include the sides of the short road into the pit area and a small turnaround near the pit that fills up with vehicles quickly.  It is illegal and unsafe to park along Highway 180.
