Andrews Cove Recreation Area in White County offers a cool mountain stream and a peaceful atmosphere, and is only 15 minutes from the popular alpine village of Helen, Georgia.

Current Conditions: Andrews Cove is open for the 2024 season. All Camping is by Reservation Only. There is no First Come/First Service.  Reservations are done through: www.recreation.gov or by calling (877) 444-6777.

Fees: Camping: $12/site/night, Site 9 is the double site at $18 a night

Restrictions: The maximum length of stay is 14 days. After the camper(s) has accumulated 14 days within any 30-day time period, the camper(s) must leave that area/campground and move from Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest land for 30 days before returning for another stay. No UTV's, ATV's or Golf carts allowed in the campground or on Forest Service Roads. 
Closest Towns: The nearest town is approximately 6 miles, or 15 minutes, to Helen, GA.  Here campers will find restaurants, grocery stores, shopping opportunities, etc.
Water: Drinking water is provided via a centralized hand pump.
Restroom: 1 Chemical Flush facility
Passes: The America the Beautiful Interagency Senior and Access Passes also the Golden Age and Golden Access Passports are accepted.  These passes entitle the pass holder to a 50% discount on camping fees. Please write your pass number on the fee envelope to get credit for this discount.

Information Center: Please contact the Chattooga River Ranger District office at 706-754-6221 or sm.fs.crrd@usda.gov. The unloading or offloading of any Off-Highway Vehicles (OHV) including ATV, UTV, or Golf Carts is not allowed. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 pm to 0600 am. Checkout time is no later than 12:00 pm and check-in time is 2:00 pm.

It is convenienly located off of Hwy 75, approximately 15 minutes north of Helen, Georgia.

From Helen, GA, take State Rt. 17/75 north for 5.5 miles to
campground sign.  Turn right into campground.

Day Hiking

The Andrews Cove Trail follows an old logging road parallel to Andrews Creek. This trail is 2 miles long and provides access to the Appalachian Trail and Forest Service Road 283 at Indian Grave Gap.
