Cedar Creek Shooting Range

The Cedar Creek Shooting Range in the Oconee National Forest is available for those interested in perfecting their target skills.  The shooting range, which is in the Cedar Creek Wildlife Management Area, is just one of 17 shooting ranges currently available on public land in Georgia. The range provides 10 shooting stations with a target distance of 100 yards for rifles and pistols.

The Cedar Creek Shooting Range was first proposed in November 1998 by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Wildlife Resources Division. Support was also provided by the National Rifle Association, the Wild Turkey Federation, Quail Unlimited, and Putnam County.

The following fees will apply:
 Ga. Department of Natural Resources Hunting and Fishing License accepted for shooting privileges.
Restrictions: Single shot and semi-automatic weapons only. No full automatic weapons allowed. Shotguns may only be patterned. Maximum caliber allowed is .50, muzzle loading weapons only. Eye and ear protection must be worn at all times while participating or observing shooting activities. Range rules are posted on the information board and are strictly enforced.  Alcohol is not permitted on the range, in the parking lot, or on the shooting range access road. Skeet shooting not allowed.

Directions

From Monticello, take Highway 212 southeast for 12.6 miles to Bradley Road. Trun right and go 1.4 miles to the shooting range.

From Eatonton, go 0.2 mile southeast on N Jefferson St toward W Marion St. Continue onto Oak St. for 1.8 mile. Take Milledgeville Rd. 0.2 mile. The go 8 miles on GA-44 W/Gray Rd. Turn right onto GA-212 W/Kinderhook Rd. and go 4.3 mi to Bradley Road. Turn left and go 1.4 miles to the shooting range.
