East Rosebud Trail (Forest Trail 15)

  
East Rosebud Trail (Forest Trail 15) is 16.6 miles long. East Rosebud Trail is also known as The Beaten Path. Trail begins at East Rosebud Road (Forest Road 2177) and ends at Fossil Lake at the Gallatin National Forest Boundary. Trail continues on to Colter Pass near Cooke City, MT. One of the most scenic trails in the Beartooths, this trail has a multitude of trout filled lakes, waterfalls, and cascading streams. Elevation change: 3400 feet. The trail is open for the following uses: Hiking, Backpacking, Horseback Riding.

General Information

Directions: Trail begins at East Rosebud Road (Forest Road 2177) and ends at Fossil Lake at the Gallatin National Forest Boundary. Travel approximately 20 miles northwest of Red Lodge, MT on Hwy 78 to Roscoe, MT. Go south approximately 14.5 miles on East Rosebud Road (Forest Road 2177) and trailhead will be at the end of the road just past East Rosebud Campground.
