Cliffline in Clifty Wilderness

Osborne Bend is a loop trail that passes through the Clifty Wilderness. Two trailheads with parking occur off of KY 715.

The trail is located within Clifty Wilderness on Cumberland District in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

This trail passes through the Clifty Wilderness. When entering a wilderness you are entering a remote site where cell or radio communications may not exist. Emergency services may be very limited. Clifty Wilderness is closed to motorized vehicles, wagons, carts, bicycles or other vehicles. Mechanized equipment is prohibited. Group size is limited to 10.

Completing this trail as a loop requires a 2-mile hike along the highway.

General Information

Directions:

Osborne Bend Trailhead (larger parking area) - Take KY 77 through Nada Tunnel. Continue on 77 to KY 715. Follow 715 approximately 7 miles to the parking area, just before the one-lane bridge that crosses the Red River.

Roadside pull-off: Off of KY 715, this trailhead is about 4.5 miles from the junction of KY 77 and 715. An unmarked pull-off for parking is available on the right side of the road. The trail is on the left. A small wooden sign marks the start of the trail.

Parking is available at the Osborne Bend Loop Trailhead and a small roadside pulloff.
