Sky Bridge Trail #214

Sky Bridge Arch Sky Bridge Trail #214, a semi-blacktop loop trail, leaves the Sky Bridge parking area and extends along a high narrow ridge to Sky Bridge and scenic overlooks. The trail passes over and beneath Sky Bridge, and then up a flight stairs (75 steps) back to the parking area. The main attractions are breathtaking overlooks into the Red River Gorge and the natural sandstone arch known as Sky Bridge. This trail is located in the Red River Gorge on the Cumberland District of the Daniel Boone National Forest.

The way across the bridge is wide, but there is no guardrail to prevent a fall. Keep a close eye on children and keep pets on a leash when crossing.

Vault toilets at picnic area meet accessibility standards for persons with disabilities, as well as a foot path from the parking lot to an overlook.

Directions:

From Slade, turn right on KY 15 and travel east 7 miles to KY 715. Turn left on 715 and continue for 4.7 miles to Sky Bridge Road.

From Pine Ridge (exit 40 on the Mountain Parkway), head west on KY 15 to KY 715. Turn right on 715 and continue 4.7 miles to Sky Bridge Road.

Parking is available at the Sky Bridge Recreation Area.
