This roadside picnic area, located on Stearns District of the Daniel Boone National Forest, provides picnic shelters, a play area with horseshoes, a playing field and a short loop trail  - Alpine Loop Trail #520 (1.5 miles)

Operational Hours: The picnic area is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Reservations: The shelters may be rented for a fee. For reservations, call the Stearns District office at 606-376-5323.

Fees No fee is required except when renting a shelter. The shelter rental fee is $25/day.

General Information


Take US 27 north from Whitley City for 11 miles. From Burnside, take US 27 south for seven miles. Look for signs.


The toilet facilities are accessible.

Parking is available at the picnic area and group-use shelter.
