Buck Creek Trail #118

Buck Creek Trail begins across from the entrance to Clear Creek Campground and follows Buck Creek along an old gravel road and dirt trail. This trail is the only trail that ends at the shoreline of Cave Run Lake on Cumberland Ranger District.

Horse use and hiking are permitted. Mountain biking and motorized use are not permitted. Closed to horse use from Dec. 15 to May 15

By utilizing the Tater Knob Connector Trail, Cave Run Lake Trail and the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail, the Buck Creek Trail can be used for loop hiking and backpacking trips into the interior of the Pioneer Weapons Wildlife Management Area

Buck Creek Trail #118 begins at Clear Creek Campground, crossing over Zilpo National Forest Byway. Then it follows beautiful Buck Creek along an old gravel road and dirt trail eventually connecting to Cave Run Trail #116.

Camping is not permitted in wildlife clearings or within 300 feet of the Cave Run Lake shoreline. Camping is also prohibited within 300 feet of Forest Service Road 918.

Directions:

From US 60 at exit 123, take KY 211 south from Salt Lick for 4 miles. Turn left (east) on Forest Service Road 129 for 2 miles to Clear Creek.


Parking:

Parking is available at Clear Creek Campground.
