McKay Crossing Campsite

Mckay Campground is located off the beaten path along Paulina Creek.  It provides campers with seclusion from the main road and the tranquility of hearing the creek flow. This area is good for bird watching, particularly in the wetlands located west of the campground.

Directions:

From Bend, OR: Travel 23.5 miles south on Highway 97, then 3.2 miles east on County Road 21, and then 2.7 miles east on Forest Road 2120.

Campground Camping

If you want to spend a day in the Newberry Volcanic Monument sightseeing and do not want to camp in a crowded campground then Mckay is the place for you. It provides campers with seclusion from the main road and the tranquility of hearing the Creek flow.  It is a nice place just to relax or if you like to be active it provides access to hiking and bicycling trails.
