Posey Lookout Trail - #34027
The Posey Lake Lookout Trail climbs from Posey Lake Campground to a historic, CCC constructed, lookout gazebo. The trail is short and fairly steep, gaining almost 400 vertical feet in .7-mile. The summit offers outstanding views of Posey Lake and the surrounding John Allen Bottom country.

General Information
Directions:From Escalante, turn north on the Hells Backbone Road, also called Pine Creek Road. At 0.7 miles the road will fork, stay right. After 3.5 miles the road will turn to dirt and is also called Forest Road 153 (NFSR 153). At 13.6 miles the road will fork, continue straight at the junction, following signs to Posey Lake Campground. Turn into the campground and follow the campground road to the left, until you reach the trailhead.
