Paunsaugunt OHV Trail


This trail has several possibilities to stop and view the edge of the Paunsaugunt plateau with brilliant rocks and hoodoos below.

There are six loop options off of this trail Coyote Hollow Loop, Daves Hollow Loop, King Creek Loop, Badger Creek Loop, Straight Canyon Loop and Crawford Pass Loop. The Paunsaugunt OHV Trail Map has the Paunsaugunt roads and trail with the loop descriptions. You can get this map at the Powell Ranger District in Panguitch or at the Red Canyon Visitor Center.

General Information


Access this loop off SR 12 on East Fork road No.087. Drive approximately 7 miles from SR 12 to road No.572.  Turn right on this road toward King Creek Campground. Go past the kiosk on the motorized trail for vehicles under 50 or less. This trail will merge onto road No.091.  This trail has 77 miles of driving opportunities. There are full sized vehicle roads that allow all driving possibilities and sections that allow vehicles 50 inches or less. Most of the roads travel along the edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau and some go into the heart of the surrounding forests.
