Sanders Mtn. Trail #172


The Sanders Mtn. Trail is 11.1 miles long. Has several access points, the northern access is on a closed FS Rd #2885, the mid access point is on Trail #171, and the southern access point is near Grubb Mtn. This trail has not been maintained for several years and may be in poor condition. The trail is a non-motorized trail suitable for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.

General Information

Directions: Located on the western edge of the district boarders the Kootenai National Forest. Take Hwy 93 west out of Whitefish 10 miles, turn on Farm-to-Market Rd go 1.5 miles, turn onto the Star Meadow Road continue on this road until it turns to gravel and becomes FS Rd #113. Access can be also be from trail #171 or Brush Pass. Best to have a District Road Map to find this trail.
