Glacier Creek Trail #690


The Glacier Creek trail is 4.6 miles long from the trailhead to Heart Lake.  It begins at end of Kraft Creek Rd also known as Forest Service Road #561. This trail starts out mild, meets up with the spur trail to Glacier Lake (2 miles from the trailhead), then continues by switchbacking up the mountain side.  The trail junctions with trail #708 to Turquoise Lake, and continues up to Crescent Lake and Heart Lake. Please note that there is no camping allowed within a ¼ of a mile of Glacier Lake.  There are also several restoration areas along this trail—please respect these closures. There is a bathroom available at the trailhead. The trail is located in Wilderness and therefore open for the following uses: hiking and horseback riding.

From Highway 83 south of mile marker 38, turn west onto Kraft Creek Rd also called Forest Service Road #561. Continue for 11.5 miles to the trailhead at the end of the road.
