Crane-Bidwell Area

  

The semi-primitive area offers several opportunities to hikers as well as mountain bike riders, motorcycle riders, off-highway vehicle operators, and snowmobilers, with spectacular views of the Warner Mountains, Hart Mountain, Warner Valley, Goose Lake Valley, and Mount Shasta.

General Information

Directions:

From Lakeview District office in Lakeview, OR travel 2.5 miles north on Highway 395, and turn right onto Highway 140. Then take Highway 140 east for 8 miles, then turn right onto Forest Road 3615. Go 0.5 miles and turn right onto old highway 140. Continue west for 1.4 miles then turn left onto Forest Road 3915. Continue on Forest Road 3915 for 10 miles, and then turn right onto Forest Road 4011. Travel on 4011 for 3 miles. The road then turns very rough (4-wheel drive required) and into Forest Road 015. Follow the signs to the Crane Trail. The trail is in the Semi-Primitive Area. There are no boundary signs.
