Accesses the Fremont National Recreation Trail #160 - Middle Segment. Parking area is limited in size. Signed trail directions are present. North from trailhead the Fremont National Recreation Trail #160 travels along Winter Rim, over Hager Mountain, and on to Antler trailhead and the summit of Yamsay Mountain. The distance to Yamsay Mountain from Government Harvey Pass is approximately 65 miles. South of Government Harvey Pass the trail is completed for a distance of approximately 50 miles to Cox Pass.

General Information

Directions: From Paisley Ranger District office, drive north on Highway 31 for 11 miles. Turn left at Govt. Harvey Pass sign post. Travel west on FS Rd. 29 (gravel) for 10 miles to the top of Winter Rim. Turn south on FS Rd. 29. Travel approx. 100 yards to the Winter Rim Trail sign.From Silver Lake Ranger District office, drive south on Highway 31 for 40 miles. Turn right at Govt. Harvey Pass sign post. Travel west on FS Rd. 29 (gravel) for 10 miles to the top of Winter Rim. Turn south on FS Rd. 29. Travel approx. 100 yards to the Winter Rim Trail sign.
