Trailhead: Trapper Creek


Area Status: Open

Provides access to: Trapper Creek Trail #192.1 and the south end of Dry Creek Trail #194. Both trails enter Trapper Creek Wilderness from the southeast.

There is a large parking lot able to hold up to 30 vehicles. Overnight camping is not allowed in the parking lot.

Current Conditions: 11/06/2023: Trail head is still snow free. In hiking season to park at this trailhead, it is necessary to have a Northwest Forest Pass, or an Interagency Pass or $5 cash for the fee envelope. Contact Mt. Adams Ranger District for current information (509) 395-3402.

Permit Info: Wilderness Permit required when entering Trapper Creek Wilderness. Free self-issue permits available at trailhead.

General Information

Directions:

From Carson, WA follow the Wind River Road north for about 13.5 miles. Then take a left on Mineral Springs Road (Forest Road 3065). Take the first right on Forest Road 5401 and follow it for about a half of a mile to the trailhead.
