Spring Creek Trail is believed to have been a Native American travel route between berry picking camps at Horseshoe Lake and fishing sites along the Cispus River. Several peeled cedar trees can be seen near the trailhead. Look for rectangular scars in the bark. Native people in the area used these pieces of bark to make baskets for berry picking.
