The Grand Mesa Visitor Center, located on the Grand Mesa, is a great place to learn about the ecology and geology of the Grand Mesa. Helpful staff are available from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm everyday to answer your questions and provide recommendations to enhance your visit. If you have time, join the visitor center staff for a nature hike, or listen to a presentation by some local experts on wildlife, wildflowers, birds, mushrooms, or our thriving population of moose! Browse the gift shop for maps, local nature books and other merchandise provided by the Rocky Mountain Conservancy Association. Visitors can purchase maps, nature products, Recreation Passes (Annual, Senior, Access Passes), and Forest Service fuelwood permits here

Families in the Forest Contest- While you are visiting the Grand Mesa, fill out the entry form for the 'Families in the Forest" Contest. It is easy and fun and tests your observation skills. Your answers may just win you and your family a one night stay in a Forest Service Cabin or some other sweet prizes! 2016 Contest information. Winners are selected in September.
Moose Day - join the fun! Join the Forest Service, Colorado Division of Willdife and others for a day of moose activities including presentations on moose biology, moose re-introductions and radio tracking. Kids will love the a moose nature hike where they will learn about moose scat and tracking moose with collars, a scavenger hunt and a puppet show featuring Smokey Bear. Moose Day is the last Saturday in July from 10 am to 4 pm. (2016 Flyer)
