Long Branch #489


The Long Branch Trail #489 begins the Long Branch Trailhead and ends at the Summit Trail #486 which is also a segment of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail and the Colorado Trail.  This trail travels south and follows Long Branch Creek for entire length.  After intersecting with the Summit Trail, a loop can be accomplished by following the Summit trail west to its intersection with the Baldy Lake Trail #491which will take you north and back to its trailhead across from the Long Branch trailhead.

Long Branch Trailhead:

From Gunnison, travel east on Highway 50 for approximately 32.5 miles to Long Branch Road, FSR #780.  Follow the Long Branch Road for approximately 2 miles, bear right at the next fork for about another mile to the Trailhead.
